If I replace a full hard disk, and at a later date I put the original disk back in, will I still have my recordings and index? I thought I could archive by retaining hard drives. scorpion 0 Posted January 13, 2009 I would not recommend it. Yes you can remove it. Do not change the date on the DVR with the 2nd hard drive. If you change the date then you will not be able to search the date time group of the 1st DVR when you reinstall it. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
