Swann DVR4 Pro-Net - Can't Login

Recommended Posts

Hi Gang,

I've set up my new DVR device successfully and I was able to use the Video Server E software fine yesterday. However, today I get "Login Process Failed". I've changed the IP Address, the Port, even set it to DHCP and all the same thing. I rebooted the DVR and it made no difference. The firmware on the unit is:

2020-10-K8-04-AA-14

The Video Server E version is 1.0.6.6

Any suggestions here? I hooked my laptop directly into the DVR and tried logging in and it didn't work (I wanted to remove the DSL router from the picture). I've also tried muitple machines with the same results.

Thanks!

Sorry for the late post. I was not paying attention to the model number from Swann. This is manufactured from AVTech and it is called the AVC 760.

If you connect up to the laptop directly then you need a cross over cable. Pins 1, and 2 at one connector become pins 3, and 6 at the other end, and vice versa. Cross overs are easy to make on your own, or easy to buy at a computer store.

Hook it up to your router, and use this method:

If you are not familiar with your router then go here:

http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm

Use the gadspot IP camera as the DVR selection as it is similiar.

Through the panel default password is menu, and then you press the enter button 4 times (o,o,o,o).

Through Video Server E then it is admin, admin.

Put the DVR in DHCP, and see what the router "gives you for the IP address", and write it down. Go to start on your computer, and select run, and type in cmd, When the screen comes up then type ipconfig.

Write down all of this info.

You will need to call your IP provider, and ask the tech support what you dns numbers are, and put this number into the dns selection of your network menu on your DVR.

In responce to your question I did not know if you were talking about problems on a local lan, or if you were talking about remote viewing.

If you are having remote viewing problems, but the local viewing is fine, then perhaps your IP address has changed on it's own, and you may need this service, or one similiar to it.

How else can I help?
