ilkevinli 0 Posted January 29, 2009 Where can the beta version of 8.3 be downloaded ? Some Beta versions is out! Release of 8.3 will be earliest in May. Guest Posted January 29, 2009 Geovision have become a more "closed" company due that they are under competition from other companies but also from pirates selling clones and copies of Geovision products they have therefore made more restrictions on the BETA software so you will need to sign a agreement not to share the software with anyone else except need/good to know inside your own company. Maybe Geovision also included watermark inside BETA too see who is leaking software! So you must contact Geovision directly to ask them for BETA. JD Where can the beta version of 8.3 be downloaded ? kyrotech 0 Posted January 30, 2009 I can confirm that 8.3 is out. I have my hands on one right now. i am currently testing with 2 x GV1480 both PCI, contrary to what geovision said, I tried with 2 x PCI cards instead of 1 x PCI and 1 X PCI-X will let you know how the tests go thanks
olafak 0 Posted January 30, 2009 GV tech support told me that you need the new version card (hardware) if you want to install two PCI card on one PC. However 8.3 can be installed as an upgrade on 8.0 and up single up cards.

radman 0 Posted February 11, 2009 I downloaded 8.3 from Geovision they gave me the link after verifying my details, I installed it ran for about an hour then said my card may be counterfeit and duly shut down No way is this a dodgy card it has been running since 2007 on 8.1.2.0 and 8.2! I restarted the software and it has now been running for over an hour! I have reported the fault to Geovision it will be interesting to see what they say? It happened again so back to 8.2 until I get some info from Geovision
olafak 0 Posted February 11, 2009 I installed 8.3 and half of the remote applications don’t seem to work. Firefox dos Explored dos not show live images, web cam drops every time! G-View I can no longer change cameras or move the PTZ or control the outputs. The Windows mobile 6 application is not nearly as good as G-View was. I tried to reinstall 8.2 but could not get it to start up. For now I am stuck with 8.3, maybe I’ll try 8.1 later today. I am no computer expert, but I am not a complete newbie either, I spend countless hours on 8.2 glitches and thus far it looks like it might be the same with 8.3. I hope GeoVision is more responsive in acknowledging glitches and patching them with 8.3 than they were with 8.2. I like GeoVsion once it’s dialed in!! I was hoping GV would redeem itself for all the 8.2 glitches. Thus far I am disappointed. I have only played with it for about 3 hours (which should be sufficient). I am sure eventually all the functions will work again. I just hope someone will post solutions on cctvforum soon.

olafak 0 Posted February 11, 2009 Thanks, I will give removing the drivers through the GeoVison install DVD a try. I had been using ccleaner, but perhaps also using the GV driver removal tool will work better. Does your remote access work with Internet Explorer? Thanks! bongofury 0 Posted February 13, 2009 I received a reply from Geovision. 8.3 will not have 64 bit support for the DVR or the remote! Theres going to be lots of unhappy customers. Glen
greenarrow1 0 Posted February 15, 2009 I also received a email from GeoVision that stated 8.3 was released but no where is there a way to request it from the email or just how to get it. When I go to their site version 8.3 is not in the recent versions area.
