Visiondvd 0 Posted February 8, 2009 Does anyone know is there a bios or jumper reset for dedicated micros digital sprite? I have wiped hard drives and reinstalled software but the network settings are somehow being retained. I want to know how to reset the network settings to default. testweight 0 Posted February 9, 2009 When i re-installed mine it did the same. When you boot up it shows you the network settings. Access it using those settings then change them to what you want it to be.
Visiondvd 0 Posted February 9, 2009 Thanks for the reply, I should have stated, that I cant access the machine with the network settings that are being shown on the unit, hence why I need to change them in any other way. I have tried ftp, web, hard drives changed etc, an hour with telephone support who finished up saying, and I quote this " it sounds like the machine is possessed" . The settings are 192.168.0.3 ip 192.168.0.1 gateway 255.255.255.0 subnet I think maybe this is default. What should the MTU of a sprite 2 be? any ideas anyone? it defaults to 0605 which seems rather low.
DaveM 0 Posted February 9, 2009 You sound like you know what you are doing. I've never used that product, but some basic troubleshooting is universal. 1. Put the DVR and your PC onto it's own switch off the customers LAN, or use a crossover cable. 2. Manually set your PC to 192.168.0.2 (turn of dhcp). 3. Make sure the the ports light up. I had a unit that only ran 10mb and my switch only support 100/1gb and nothing would work until I switched it out. 4. Make sure you can ping the IP address. If you can ping it, then you have the right IP. You might be able to run a port scanner on it to see if it has been set for an odd port.
