Cooperman 0 Posted February 7, 2005 Hey CCTVINSTALLER The silence is deafening. Maybe our fellow Brit installers are a wee bit shy
CCTVINSTALLER 0 Posted February 8, 2005 Lol, yea cooperman, you can say that again. My main concern is the router, we've been having so many problems lately, really need a reliable router that stays connected! Anyway, i await a response from any Brit installer who's cracked it
rory 0 Posted February 8, 2005 well the Dlink is still working here... basically just threw those 2 brand new linksys in the bloody trash!
ezCCTV 0 Posted February 8, 2005 Netgear routers are fine, also Draytek work very well. With regards to ISPs, its mostly down to personal experiences. Try going to http://adslguide.org.uk they have great indepth reviews about all Uk ISPs, such as uptime, reliability and speeds, remember its the upload speeds that matter with webcam applications
CCTVINSTALLER 0 Posted February 8, 2005 Thanks EZcctv, we've tried netgear and had tonnes of problems, dsl link keeps on dropping, is there any particular setup process, all we do is enter the login details to get the internet running and then apply port forwarding, we dont enter any IP details. Is there anything im doing wrong? Spoken to draytek, very impressed with the 2600V product, gonna order 1 in to test it and see how far it takes me!
rory 0 Posted February 8, 2005 Geez, you guys actually have a choice of broadband ISPs! We have one DSL ISP (non ADSL) and one Cable ISP, and they are both monopolies.
