swampguinnie 0 Posted February 15, 2009 Hi guys, I am going to install a cctv system in the family snooker hall to help prevent the loonatics causing caos in a new room which will be unmanned. I will be doing the install myself and have no previous experience with this work , but am capable of learning fast and would really appreciate any help offered. The system will be set up in a room with no natural light. The room is a rectangle 18m x 8m and will always have 10 x 100w single wall lights turned on. The additional room light will vary as the 6 tables in the room are turned on & off. I would like to install 6 cameras in the room, enabling 100% coverage, these will be placed on the 18m long length of the wall opposite each other and so the longest distance they must see is 8m to the far side of the room. Also, I would like to record what is happening at all times and will possibly expand the system in the future to hold another 8/10 (16 max) camera's and so I am thinking a 16 channel multiplexer may be a way of being future proof. p.s. I may start wiring the cabling asap and link the cameras up as and when I buy the equipment, so what wire should I use? I was thinking of digital quality coaxle cable unless I am told different. At the wiring point should I also be installing a power cable to run alongside in order to power the cameras? Please help a newbie and dont go to technical as its all new to me.
