PlanetEarth 0 Posted February 7, 2005 Hello - Can anyone PM me some Outdoor Vandal Housing info./prices? They do NOT HAVE to be PTZ. I need a minimum of Eight. (W/ brackets, cameras?) Thanks! Gregg
kaysadeya 0 Posted February 7, 2005 I think most of the people here would recommend Extreme cameras for that purpose. There's also WizKid (a subsidiary of Extreme) that sells more affordable cameras for your type of application. http://www.extremecctv.com/products/index.cfm http://www.wizkidoptotech.com/
rory 0 Posted February 8, 2005 Do they need to just be housings, or cameras with housings?

rory 0 Posted February 9, 2005 Need cameras as well... variable focal - Leaning towards the Extremes now... thanks for all the feedback! Gregg Whats your budget per camera? Do you want color in the day and black and white at night, do you need infrared, ie. is it pitch dark or is there some light at night? Any areas that require ID such as faces or licence plates? rory 0 Posted February 10, 2005 Actually from what I have been told, explosion proof simply means it wont cause any sparks which could result in an explosion when used in hazardous enviroments. Whether it can actually withstand an explosion is beyond me, I dont think they test for that though.

AVCONSULTING 0 Posted February 10, 2005 Rory is correct about the term explosion proof. They are designed not to cause an explosion in an area like oil wells, natural gas facilities, etc. They will not survive an explosion.
