scorpion 0 Posted February 28, 2009 There is a series of steps we need to do before we get remote video. Question one: Do you have local video where the DVR, and a computer is on the same LAN? What kind of router do you have? Have you read this PDF? http://scorpiontheater.com/Documents/AVTech_Guide_Networking_AVC7XX_Linksys_Info_2A_Line2.pdf

scorpion 0 Posted March 2, 2009 Is your DVR installed at your home? If you are at home, and you are using a WAN IP address, or your dns host address then it will not work. You have to have a duplex internet. In other words you need to go to another house, and use their internet connection to check your remote view. If you are at home then use 192.168.1.10. Go into your address book, and set up this IP address, and name it LAN in your comments section. Does Video Server E work with your LAN address?

scorpion 0 Posted March 2, 2009 Try your IP address at home. Lets see if we can connect, and then we will figure out what is wrong with the dns address after we get connected.
flufin 0 Posted March 2, 2009 I use internet explorer to connect to dvr at home and thats working (192.168.1.10) Is it matter if adsl modem is in router or bridge mode. mine is in router mode
scorpion 0 Posted March 3, 2009 Try your IP address at home. Lets see if we can connect, and then we will figure out what is wrong with the dns address after we get connected. I reread my own post, and this is not quite what I had meant! This is what I get when I am in a rush, and trying to speed type! What I meant was to use the IP address rather than the dns. If you can log in at work with the IP address then we no everything is working. If you cannot then that is the first step for me to trouble shoot. If your router at home has the port forward setup correctly then I do not know why it is not working. At work do you have some kind of firewall like Sonicwall? DaveM 0 Posted March 4, 2009 If you are connecting to your router from the outside, you need to configure port forwarding in the router to go to your DVR. You should also turn off remote management for the router.
