fas 0 Posted March 22, 2009 Have any of you added dyndns to a geovision pc, and if so, does it cause any problems? If not, what other methods are you using to log in remotely with a dynamic ip that changes often?
3RDIGLBL 0 Posted March 23, 2009 Is there any reason why you don't use dipmap? GV has a DDNS service you can install along with the rest of optional installs on the cd.
fas 0 Posted March 23, 2009 Yes. I already have a dyndns name at this location. They are in the process of purchasing a new sonic wall, and until then I need to access the system remotely via dyndns. When the new sonicwall arrives, it will take care of the dyndns and I can remove it from the geo pc.
olafak 0 Posted March 24, 2009 I have been using dyndns on several DVRs...it works well and is a lot more reliable than dipmap. dipmap seem to have the tendency to go down for days at a time.
