Cat-Camera-Man 0 Posted March 23, 2009 Can not find in search: Should you remove Geovision software before you install the new version 8.3, or just install it? Thanks. R.T.
ilkevinli 0 Posted March 23, 2009 Either way will work. There is more of a chance of something going wrong if you install over the old version which is why I personally like to uninstall and start fresh. Good luck. Cat-Camera-Man 0 Posted March 23, 2009 ilkevinli, Thanks for the answer. I am now at the site and will make the attempt to remove and install. R.T.
crazydiamond 0 Posted March 24, 2009 I agree, Remove the 8.2 first and then I would also delete all Geo files withing the windows directory. 8.3 NVR has been nothing but a problem for me. Fixed a few issues by completely cleaning the windows registry and reinstalling 8.
Cat-Camera-Man 0 Posted March 25, 2009 Maybe I had some luck. The only problem was some .DLL files that would not delete. 8.3 wanted to over write them and could not. Stopped install at that point. Changed the install folder from GV800 to GV803 and install went on without any problems. Program is working great.....so far... R.T.
secureconcepts 0 Posted April 2, 2009 upgrades are always "problematic" with GeoVision ...... Backup setting with FBR. - uninstall the software - remove the drivers - Uninstall (control panel) all other GeoVision software - Clean the Geovision directory (if you can not delete some files ...stop CC service first) restart .... - install new version - restore setting - inport video files (if needed) with repairlog
