Connect a cam to DVR card and analog monitor.

Recommended Posts

Hi

Is it OK to split video signal using BNC T-connector ?

The distance from camera to analog monitor is about 20'-30' and to DVR station more than 100'

Personally i wouldnt, we've tried that before and sometimes it works with short distances but we end up getting video loss signals on random occasions. Doesn't your monitor have a video out? Or doesnt your DVR have a loop? We've only used the T connectors if we're using Geo systems (PC Based) because you dont get vid out for each camera

I recently uses a T-connector on the monitor out of a stand alone DVR as it had no second monitor (everfocus), and ran RG6 850'+, it worked fine on a CCTV Monitor & a TV.

T pieces should not be used on PC equipment, when long runs are used, the difference is that a pc requirs 1.1 v pk to pk, where a standalone only requires 1v pk to pk, most stand alones have amplification, that is why you have never had to worry rory, but you should always use a Distribution amp when using pc based equip for longer runs
