sab568 0 Posted March 30, 2009 Hi all, I have an issue with a long distance cable run using twisted pair. I have 2 cameras connected about 400 meters away from my DVR (my office is in the lobby, and my storage is 4 stories below). I have one of them conencted through an amplified video transmiter and one through a passive video transmiter. They both reach my office fine. The issue is that when I plug them in to my DVR the image is displayed in black and white. When I plug them in to a TV monitor the image is displayed in color. The only difference I see is that the DVR inputs use a RCA to BNC converter and it outputs to a computer monitor using DB15 while I can plug in to the TV directly using RCA. Any ideas what could possible cause this??? FYI: DVR: LOREX L208D251 8 CHANNEL PASSIVE TRANSMITER: NVT NV-518A AMPLIFIED TRANSMITER: ELITE VIDEO LONG DISTANCE RUNNER Thanks! vin2install 0 Posted March 30, 2009 Your signal is not strong enough for that DVR. If your signal is too weak sometimes it will come in as B/W on the DVR. A lot of cheap DVR's requires strong video signals to work properly.
