Satans Thong 0 Posted March 31, 2009 I have a wireless camera with a receiver that has the old AV connection. I want to record to my laptop and have seen these adaptors where they have the av connection converted to USB, could I record to my harddrive with this? If so what software would be best? I would really appreciate the advice. I know that a digital system would be better but I figured, I already own this, could I adapt it with minimal outlay. It is only for observing my front door as I am having some hassle with people vandalising some plants/ornaments around it. Therefore I don't want to layout hundreds of pounds!! Thanks in advance. sviviani 0 Posted March 31, 2009 that would work, not ideal but for what your doing it should. Most of those usb dongles come with some type of software built in.
VST_Man 1 Posted April 1, 2009 your would be recording digital if you did it via USB. and a simple VCR would also work.just harder to manage tapes. also, make sure you restrict the save folder/location as it will fill your hard drive up quick. all windows pc's need a virtual drive space to operate and if you fill it up your pc will have a heart attack and slow to ice..... Satans Thong 0 Posted April 1, 2009 I was thinking of trying to have it go through the laptop and onto a 500gig external drive. Thanks for the advice BTW.
