Dedicated Micros Digital Sprite 2 Noobie question

Hello folks,

 

New to the board, and looking for help and info.....

 

At my work place we have a Digital Sprite 2 system... The installers that put in the system don't really know much about it so I'm left on my own to figure it out....

 

Currently I'm trying to configure the system to record and retain at least 90 day's of footage... The system seems to record 24x7 365 days a year even if nothing is happening in the field of view of the camera.

 

Can the system be setup to record only when motion is detected in the camera field of view? I have motion detection setup in the Sprite 2 system so that the PPS rate is increased if motion is detected. What I would prefer is to have the camera record only if someone steps into the camera's field of view. Is this possible??
