Avermedia 1304 audio channel too quiet ?

Hi,

 

Can anyone tell why my 2 1304 net dvrs record only the faintest sound even with a battery powered omnidirectional condenser ?

 

Is it simply because the audio hardware in the 1304 is not much good ?

I am using them in several different places with non-powered mics..........work pretty good.

 

I run RG59 cable as the microphone cable.........adapt the connects as needed.

I sorted it in the end by adding a mic preamp box, it works very well but im surprised I need a powered mic and preamp box !
