destro_23 0 Posted April 29, 2009 what makes a good license plate camera? Strong IR? and good focused lense? Also if someone wanted to log the plates that came into the driveway is there software for that?
scorpion 0 Posted April 29, 2009 http://scorpiontheater.com/lpr.aspx http://scorpiontheater.com/speedbumpcamera.aspx Perhaps a Geovision platform, or a Pelco Platform for data retention of the plates?
zmxtech 0 Posted May 1, 2009 Strong IR is "sales talk" same as "its got 200 piece LED go really far...." Main types of LPR I see today [besides $peed cam$] 1/ IR where you just get a BW pic of the plate but no information on the car or driver.-they work well tho [example "Bosch" RegX] 2/ the IP type that uses OCR to grab the plate, car and driver -sweet [example plug Visec http://www.zmx.com.au/numberplate.htm] the software is very expensive if you want to database it or control a gate etc. like $3500Au + But that's really cheap compared to employing a guard for 40k a year
Sawbones 0 Posted May 1, 2009 I still like that speed-bump cam... that thing is dead sexy.
