megapixel man 0 Posted June 5, 2009 I will take some more useful shots when I have a chance Looking at the night image and the refective light from the tree leaves and car refective surfaces it appears there is a long exposure setting. Is it set to auto or have you set a manual exposure time? Also interested to know if the DN camera has a DC auto iris option.

skane 0 Posted June 5, 2009 Also interested to know if the DN camera has a DC auto iris option. The DN Areconts don't have auto iris option.
CCTVguru1 0 Posted June 6, 2009 (edited) I am surprised at the lack or resolution for a 5MP. Look at the following images from the IndigoVision 720p HD camera. Compare both at 400% on the leaves and then 800% very similar considering we are comparing 1.3MP to 5MP Also note on the Arecont the image is not sharp in the outer edges of the image. only the centre. thewireguys 3 Posted June 6, 2009 I have the Arecont 4mm lens on the camera. The focus will improve when the megapixel lens arrives. I think the Arecont has a better image then the IndigoVision.

On a 5MP camera, you should be able to electronic zoom to 200% and have the same resolution as the 1.3MP (inverse square law). In this image resampled to 200% the leaves and the badge on the car should be sharp but are not. I would love to see a TVL chart test. I have tested the Indigo to 825TVL. CCTVguru1 0 Posted June 8, 2009 Still images like this should look crisp when taken that close. add some movement to see how the canera performs. hence the leaves in in a real scene are a good test. Who typically looks at the background? is the moving parts we are interested in.
