popgeo 0 Posted May 9, 2009 Hi Guys , I was wondering if there is such a thing as a IP PTZ camera with IR ? I am currently using a Sony Ipela RZ50 in a restaurant where the owner is very picky about the light level. It is mostly twilight in the dining area. The Ipela is very good with regular light conditions but poor with low light conditions, even if it has day/night settings. The optical zoom on the sony ipela is 25x. In the dining room there is natural light on about 1/3 of the space, where the ipela does a reasonable job when ther is daytime. Any suggestions ? I was thinking of trying infrared illuminators as welll.. but the RZ50 probably does not pick that kind of light.

zmxtech 0 Posted May 18, 2009 Most PTZ cams with an "IR cut filter" will work well with IR illumination. some are called day-night. Ones with built in IR are usually very low on the food chain there are some quality exceptions like AXIS 213 with IR. You Have to be careful not to make the inside look like a prison -use low profile IR gear like "IR Puks". my 2c
