Checkpoint Ptz Camera need info on

Recommended Posts

Hi, I am looking for the wiring dirgram for a Pendant Dome PTZ camera by checkpiont? Part # is 701438 & serial is D502399-960920. Also i need to know what Protcall it runs on. I bought 4 of these PTZ from an auction of a grocery store that closed.

As a side note i am also looking for a PTZ controler card for a Geovision system and one for a pc dvr camera setup. I think i found one of the card but am not sure as i have never delt with PTZ systems. Here is the card i found sofar GV-NET Card - Geovision PTZ Control Card RS-232 converter

or Geovision GV-NET IO Card, PTZ Controller, RS-485. Please Let me know if this will work with the PTZ i got or What?

Also please let me know what PTZ joystick controler with work with these systems too.

See if the cameras have a connector labeled "serial", "RS-232", "RS-485", or maybe RX+ and RX-. If so, you can control them via the serial port(s) on your DVR, no special card necessary. The cameras will very likely support Pelco P and/or Pelco D protocols, in addition to what other manufacturer-specific protocols they may have.

their is a Serial conector on the end of the ptz camera, but it has a conector on it that splilts the plug into a coaxal line then 4 other lines Red, Black, Green, White. I think the Red and Black are 12v power and the others are the Data lines. This is the same for all 4 PTZ's, in need to fine a wiring diagram to wire it the the serial conector or to a card, but i need to connect all 4 ptz. I am just not sure if i can daisy chain the Ptzs, if so how?

to the serial port.

Sounds like a reasonable guess on the wiring, but it would be a good idea to be sure before hooking up power. This appears to be the manufacturer's website: http://www.checkpointsystems.com/default.aspx?page=clarityptzsys but they don't seem to have a lot of info there - you could always try contacting them directly for a manual.

*Technically* to daisy-chain cameras, you would run a pair of control wires from the controller to the first camera, then parallel them from that camera to the next, and so on... but in most instances, you can just run a pair from each camera back to the controller and parallel them together there.

thanks for the info again, but i have already contacted Checkpiont Systems for the info or manual. the Tech said he could help but was not alowed to because i am a thrid party vendor in this. He then sent me to a lady who told me that she would contact someone who could help and call me back, that was a week and half ago. I called them again and get the phone swap tell a dead end again. I am going to try again to get someware with them. I was just seeing if anyone knew about These PTZ.

Thanks for any and all help
