jcomp 0 Posted May 19, 2009 I purchased this PC Based System w/ Capture Card from midwest cctv in indiana several years ago and they have went out of bussiness and i wanted to know if i can add an external drive to that system without having to upgrade it. Soundy 1 Posted May 19, 2009 Kinda depends on the software. Adding an external drive to a PC is easy.... getting the DVR software to use it may be another matter. I know versions of VideoInsight pre-v3.0 only supported a single target drive for all video... as of 3.0 they let you assign a separate destination for each camera. Others (like Vigil) allow you to designate a number of destinations and it will rotate through the pool as necessary. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
jcomp 0 Posted May 19, 2009 i dont know the software it just says midwest cctv everywhere on the software. there logo is everywhere. there is a tool called file initialization where you can add drives but i dont know if that is where it records to. please help.
