Using Wavereader with a VPN

Been looking for some help and this seems like the place.

 

I'm attempting to connect my XP laptop to a DVR via WaveReader

 

I've been unsuscessful due to a conflict between my VPN client and Wavereader

 

I stop the client and service but that does not seem to help.

 

I cannot modify my VPN configuration, was wondering if there is a mthod to have Wavereader use a different Network connection

 

So a post that dead ended concerning this, but was hoping for some help.
