scorpion 0 Posted May 31, 2009 I do not understand why you are doing what you are doing? The DVR records all of the video, and you only need to extract the two, or five minutes of video that shows the "action". 500GB??? Wow! Why dont you buy another DVR, and just take the whole hard drive home, and then pop it into your other DVR? Did you know the remote software will allow you to record the video to a remote computer? I think this would save you the headache from what you are trying to do. What do you think?
nVideo 0 Posted May 31, 2009 I have to keep clips in the archives of the last 3 years for EU hasap. Does the recorded files in a normal format such as avi or mp4? And if they are full of quality clips of the DVR?
scorpion 0 Posted June 1, 2009 What you see is what you get on your computer. Compressed video will look less then live video. The video is "wrapped" in proprietary software to avoid tampering, and to add watermark. You can convert the video to AVI, or you can record from the monitor out if you want to upload to Youtube ect.
