tallman 0 Posted May 31, 2009 Hello, I have installed a 4th PTZ camera into an existing installation. All PTZ's work great during local viewing and control. The problem is that the business owner controls the PTZ's via the Multicam Remote View client on his local 10/100 network and for whatever reason, the new PTZ movement is "painfully" slow (the original 3 PTZ's work great with the remote view). The first 3 PTZ's are from the same manufacturer and are wired in parallel or star configuration. The new PTZ is from a different manufacturer and initially the RS-485 wires were "jumped" or spliced from the # 3 PTZ. Realizing this could pose a problem, I took the # 3 PTZ out of the loop and wired the # 4 (new) PTZ in its place to replicate my original "star" configuration. This made no difference. I am using a GV-Net card with Pelco D protocol, 2400 baud and all PTZ's are mapped. The PTZ ID's are 1,2,3,and 6. The new PTZ is software config'd and my keyboard is broken so I had to use the factory default of ID 6. As mentioned, all PTZ's work great locally. It's during the Remote View on the local network that PTZ # 4 crawls. I did notice that the customer supplied PC has only 256KB of RAM. Could this possibly be the problem? All suggestions welcomed and greatly appreciated! Thank you.
