thewireguys 3 Posted June 3, 2009 Is there a product one the market that will let you test the bandwith of your switches, routers, and wireless links? I am using AnalogX NetStat but it only tests the NIC on the computer. I am looking for a device like my Cable tester that I would plug send and receive units into the switch. Then I would have the send unit stream 1Gig of info on the switch to the receive unit and if your able to receive the 1Gig stream. Any ideas? Thanks
sviviani 0 Posted June 4, 2009 can't you do that with 2 computers? or 2 switches and monitor them?
Soundy 1 Posted June 4, 2009 Sure you could, but that that makes for a couple of pretty bulky testers. Fluke makes a range of "standalone" network analyzers and testers: http://www.flukenetworks.com/fnet/en-us/products/Industry.htm?categorycode=INET

Easiest way, transfer a file from one to the other, see how long it takes. Not the most accurate method, but it'll give you a fair idea.
TastyHuman 0 Posted June 4, 2009 Many routers and managed switches can report performance stats.
