lAbArYnth 0 Posted June 5, 2009 Hi Folks(and Gurus) I need to run some extensive testing on D/N cameras for a project involving farm security, this entails, D/N cameras mounted on poles at farm road intersections to: Record what vehicles, humans etc are moving beteen certian points at all times of the day and night. To get license plate recognition and detect and expose who is inside/driving the vehicle. The idea is that if any criminal activity took place during the night, they can go back to the footage and determine the time and pickup the vehicle and it's occupants. I am trying to get an accurate idea of how we can expect the cameras to perform and whether we will need to use infrared illuminators. Also trying to gather a bit more intelligence in terms of requirements for the environment which is pitch dark with NO ambient lighting. Right now I am running between suppliers in an effort to find a suitable unit that doesn’t cost the earth. The D/N camera that seems to come out on top for this exercise is the Axis 221(untried). Not too worried about the comms right now , as have this covered. The cameras and lighting are the priority. Has anyone out there done something similar or have a sensible idea to proceed. Thanx
