woodrowcw 0 Posted June 9, 2009 I have a new Pelco Sarix camera which is currently connected to a PC which decodes the H.264 video and outputs to a monitor. I would like to replace the PC with a dedicated decoder. The only ones I have found are either designed to work with a specific camera or do not support the resoulution and frame rate of my camera (1280 x 720, 30 ips). Does anyone make a dedicated decoder that will work in this situation? I'm thinking that it would be more reliable than a PC (hopefully no reboots). If not, my next choice would be to use a small pc running Linux. It's hard to find one with enough power to decode high res video though.

woodrowcw 0 Posted June 12, 2009 As I stated in the post, I'm looking for a decoder. The camera does the encoding.

thewireguys 3 Posted June 12, 2009 Well Pelco is who you need to look at for the decoder. http://www.pelco.com/Products/default.aspx?id=850 And looking on there site they don't have a h.264 decoder but if that camera also has MPEG-4 maybe one of there decoder would be compatible. cupidoneill 0 Posted August 16, 2012 You can use the one from Next Level to do what you are looking for http://www.nlss.com/productsdecoder.html All depends on the cameras you are using from Sarix Check the list under http://www.nlss.com/support-devices.html Hope this helps
