need help diginet 4.13 backup

i have a diginet 4.13 that running 16ch and i want to know why it take so long to do a avi backup? im using microsoft 1 compression and it take to long to backup the video.. when i using diginet 4.08 it not take to long to do the backup is there any difference the old software and the new?? the system is running

 

intel core2duo 2.8, ati radeon gc with 512mb, 2gig hyperx ram, windows xp pro sp3.

 

can anyone help me to solve the problems and if any one know what compression is the best and fast for avi backup.
