Outside Lot System Ideas

I need to get a video system to monitor a parking lot. It is approximately 1/2 acre in size and has no buildings on site.

Ideally, it would be a network/ip system with open standards that could be interfaced with a future larger (but currently non-existent) system with 8 cameras and a motion sensor/notification system.

 

Is there an "out of the box" solution that could be placed outside (probably mounted on a telephone pole)?

 

Any suggestions or advice on what direction to go would be appreciated.
