haxxx 0 Posted July 5, 2009 I'd always used a cheap $40 card for dvr's for friends and family, worked pretty decent. Did some reading here and figured Geovision was the way to go. I'm sure so many people must be right but i still haven't been able to justify my over $700 price tag. The wife is not smiling. Video over the internet looks better on my cheap card. Here's my setup: MB: Asus P5GC-MXgc-mx CPU: E5400 2.70 Ghz dual core Chipset: 945GC / ICH7 Memory: Corsair 2GB 250Gb H/D (Partitioned to about a 30gb C: ) Video Card: bought a ATI Sapphire HD 3650 512MB previously had a ATI RX1550 128MB. tried both. Power Supply: came with cheap case 500w i think. GeoVision Card: GV-1240 GeoVision Software Version: 8.2 Screen Resolution: 1024x768 Video Size: 720x480 Motion/Continuous: Motion Codec: Geo Mpeg4 ASP FPS: GREYED OUT FOR SOME REASON So is the "Enable Directdraw Overlay" option. Every few seconds there is a glitch when playing back recorded footage. Another little oddity. I could swear that when i first installed the geovision software there was a tab on the system configure menu that said TCP/IP and a port setting 3550 i think. Haven't seen it since i reinstalled, odd. I found some recommended settings in a post here but unfortunately none of those sliders (quantizer, keyframe interval etc.) are active in my advanced codec setting menu. Also what is recommended program for internet viewing. Using the IE browser and watching only 2 cameras seems to provide the smoothest pic. 4-9 FPS per cam. The DMMultiView is just okay. I'm gon need some help or a refund before i start sleeping on the couch. Haxxx.
