georgio 0 Posted March 6, 2005 reading through the previous posts I realize the kodicom board that I bought from Hong Kong is probably a copy. I am having a problem with black screens in surveillance mode and in search mode. I have the dvr to rec on motion and it is indicating that it is, but I can not see the video. My computer is an Intel based pentium 4 2500 asus p4p8800 mb with 256 meg ram 160 gb hd and 64 mb nvida gforce 2 400 agp card. The system has worked for about 4 months then crashed leaving an unformatted hd on the orginal win 2000 drive. On reinstalling everything I get the black screens. all help appreciated, thanks George
heloder 0 Posted March 6, 2005 Change your video card to an ATI 7500 or better and your problem will be fixed.
georgio 0 Posted March 7, 2005 Thanks I will give that a try. It is interesting though that it worked for about 4 months before it crashed in Win 2000. Is it possible that the card precipitated the crash? Food for thought. Thanks again George
heloder 0 Posted March 7, 2005 It could be the driver you are now using. Its hard to tell.
georgio 0 Posted March 8, 2005 Hi Heloder, Interstingly today I tried, after reading some more posts again, while waiting for my new ATI card to arrive, changing my display settings from high colour to true colour 32 bit. Nothing happened at first and then after rebooting and waiting for about 2 hours the surveillance and search screens came back to life. I had not noticed that I had the settings on high colour instead of true colour. It works now!!! I will still change out the video card when it arrives to hopefully prevent this from happening anymore. Thank you for all your help, it is very much appreciated.
