tonyw 0 Posted July 15, 2009 Hi, Im trying to connect remotely to a DVR using DMMultiview v8200. I'm on Vista Business and have disabled UAC, but I'm getting the same results on XP Professional computer. If I enter the WAN IP and change to Compact DVR, enter the username and password, but get a msg "Can't connect to server." Port 10000/TCP is opened on our Netgear router and points to the DVR. Do any other ports need to be opened? I've tried turning the Windows firewall off. I'm about 150 miles away from the DVR which sits in the office of a small marina, which doesn't have computer in it all the time. Anyone have any knowledge on any other ports that need to be opened? Thanks, Tony
shentim 0 Posted July 16, 2009 Hey Tony, Are the versions of software the same? I'd check with our technical support department's live chat support at www.usavisionsys.com (link on left side) - they can definitely help you get it going!
rory 0 Posted July 17, 2009 is port 10000 a new port in 8.2? previously it has always been port 80, 4550, 5550. Optionally 6550 if audio is used. Make sure the DVR has the same ports as your router even if you change them to something else.
