joshr 0 Posted July 27, 2009 Hi I am so glad I found this forum I have been reading and reading...so much info here.....I have been running a cctv dvr at home for several years now...I saw a friend with optiview system and wanted one....I started with ebay junk pico 4 card system...then I ran avermedia mp-5016 16 ch. 240 fps till the lightining hit my 110mm zoom camera and wiped out the whole mess....currently using a backup 16 channel 120 fps and want a new setup badly...I just cant decide what to get i like gv-1480 but the price is a bit hard to swallow...I want a new real card...I give up on the ebay garbage...things I know I want are the fine tuning and masking for the motion detection..the generic high medium low isn't cutting it...internet/remote viewing....and the h.264 compression seems the way to go...is the geovision best or do I bite the bullet and buy whole machine from optiview? I currently have 12 cams but want at least 16 channel...will run at least 1tb of storage...plenty with what I used to have...any recommendations for these or something I havent even seen yet? I have thought of replacing the avermedia cards, but if I am spending the money I want to be sure I get everything I want I have verizon wireless voyager and would like to view on the phone if possible but not a requirement. Thanks for any advice
