eyeone 0 Posted August 4, 2009 Hi guys, I have recently set up a 4 camera CCTV surveillance in my vehicle for recording car vandals. However the video turns out to be dark in the night. I am exploring making DIY IR LED to lighten up the image. I am considering a 940nm IR to make the light totally covert. Some questions I have in mind 1. How do i know if my camera is sensitive to 940nm IR? Where can i purchase the IR LED. (most online shops sells 850nm, not 940nm) 2. Does the V-kool windows film i have make the IR illuminator useless, since V-kool has certain degree of IR rejection 3. Any other alternative besides changing a new camera? The reason why i like my existing camera is it consumes a low voltage and thus it's suitable to use for car battery.
DVR MAN 0 Posted August 5, 2009 The I/R would probably reflect off the windows and render the image usless. The I/R would have to be outside the windows to work.
