hadschi72 0 Posted August 4, 2009 Hi everyone, I have a Avtech 792 and 2 issues with it: 1) It seams to ramdomly reset when I try to playback the videos when following things were set during recording: - recording with motion trigger only - prerecording on - best possible resolution/quality --> When I want to playback a scene from the list of videos, everything seems to be OK until I can read: "Frame End" and the playback stops. But there are more video scenes after this recorded on the machine! When I try then to playback one of those broken scenes I see just a black screen and the recording time stamp says 00:00:00!! I can try this 2 or 3 times, then the machine reboots! This can be reproduced as often as I want. When recording permanently (not only when motion trigger is active) the recordings seem to be OK. Playback in FF 32x mode works like a charm. Also it seems to work when I reduce the resolution to CIF, but I need the high resolution - and I bought already the high resolution cameras and the DVR has the feature to record at this high resolution with motion capturing... But I need the feature to record only after motion trigger action. I guess the problem is synchronisation (videocodec, HD, whatever) when recording starts... Has anyone the same problem? It is already the 2nd machine of this model that I have at home - so it's definetly a bug and not a broken board, or something else. 2) I forgot my password of the LAN Admin Account (maybe I also changed the username? - can't remember...). I already tried to hardreset the chip, as scorpion described at his webpages, but this didn't work at all - the settings were still there after shortcutting the 2 pins. I tried several times with different tools to produce the shortcut. Any ideas??? My vendor doesn't want to communicate properly with me - he just wanted me to send the box to him (2x already!) The first time I got a brand new machine back, second time he upgraded the firmware to: 1133-1039-1009-1025-0A-0000 No comments, he just sent it back - both times! - I'm really fed up with him. I don't want to deal with my vendor any more, because he doesn't seem to know what to do with this machine. The machine is a European (German) Model - don't know whether there are differences to the US Market, or not, but maybe... Please help! Thx in advance... G. scorpion 0 Posted August 6, 2009 Ouch! I do not know what to tell you. For the reset to work the DVR has to be unplugged. Place a tool across the pins, and then you have to plug the power back in, and you have to wait several seconds. With the large size of hard drives, and the low cost of hard drives then motion recording should not be such an issue? In US terms in CIF / BEST you will get ~ about 3 weeks. I do not know what that will do in FRAME. I wish I could be of more help.
