Should we be using IR Corrected Lens?

Hi guys - new poster. Great site, lots of useful information.

I have a question I hope you can help with.

We are using Watec 902H2 Supreme to monitor a street scene day and night in a city area. We are not using an IR illuminator. Should we be using an IR Corrected Lens rather than a regular varifocal to avoid focus shift?

The short answer is yes. Between the loads of IR light in the dusk/night sky and from surrounding light pollution from incandescent lights that camera will really perform. For the few dollars more for an IR corrected lens you will be future proof as well should you decide to get an IR illuminator.

as mentioned, yes. now adays they are easy to get and not that expensive, well worth it.
