Happyhappydog 0 Posted August 7, 2009 Hi. I have 4 cameras, and they are modulated to 4 channels into one cable. This cable was distributed into each room. I would like to buy a DVR that can be put in one of my rooms, and record the image with Video Motion Detection. Is there such a product? All DVR I found have individual input for each camera. Thanks. scorpion 0 Posted August 8, 2009 You might have to get 4 VCRs, and have them tuned to each cameras "channel". Then you can take the VCR composite out, and put it in to the DVR input. Why not put a splitter on each camera, and run it straight to the DVR before the signal is modulated?
si_kungs 0 Posted August 11, 2009 you can put four demodulator at the end of the wire and tune it to each frequency you have used on your modulator before connecting each output to the dvr
suky 0 Posted August 12, 2009 Hello, If I were you, I would connect each camera to the DVR individually. In that case, it will reduce the signal transmission loss and ensure the high quality picture. A standalone DVR and four cables will meet your need. And if you are going to purchase a DVR, I can show you my advices: 1. H.264 video compression format and high display/record frame rate (30 frames per channel) can ensure the real time and good quality image; 2. Remote access is a must! 3. USB2.0 for Backup; 4. 1TB HDD is nice; 5. Support live view via 3G mobile and Smartphone is better. If you need my help, please let me know! It is my pleasure to be a help!
