simo923 0 Posted August 8, 2009 Before i go ahead and plug up a system, i have a query that must have been covered, but i can't find any info. I have a Lilin, standalone DVR. Now the client want s 52" 16:9 monitor as the output (vga, and composite connection for cable redunancy). Now i would assume that the picture will be stretched and therefore distorted. Is there anything that i can buy/do to fix this or am i just going to have to set the monitor to 4:3 and suffer the black lines down the side?
Soundy 1 Posted August 8, 2009 You might be able to run the video through a post-processor that will stretch it proportionately - not stretched in the middle, stretched more toward the sides - but that probably won't work any better (I tried watching a hockey game on a TV that did that once, it was like watching it through a water bottle). So, your only options are stretched video, pillarboxed video (black bars on the sides)... or zoomed, so the top and bottom extend past the edge of the screen. dvrtiger 0 Posted August 12, 2009 You won't have any problems, we use 16:9 monitors all the time. If you experience any problems, all monitors have built in picture adjustment functions.
