help selecting DVR

Recommended Posts

Greetings everyone,

looking for alittle help for purchasing the right tools to close circuit monitor my clothing shop and company.

My main problem is selecting a stand alone DVR that can be connected to my local network with a simple easy to use dependable management software.

Now i have been in contact with some local professionals/dealers, located in Athens Greece, and although I asked for a hands-on demonstration for the equipment they recommend, its still unclear to me an obvious choice.

From your experience and knowledge where should I look for dependable and not too expensive equipment. I am focusing on the DVR selection first because I believe thats the key.

Any advise, material online, links, best sellers would be much appreciated

Many thanks for your help!

Regards

yannis

Quoting a reply by Suky to post "best inexpressive dvr" post below, because it sounds right to me. Only difference is I dont really need more than 15 days recording space max, and no LCD if i have access to the DVR via local network already have 4 different PC's.

Also not sure if I am breaking any rules here by asking for recommendations as to make and model. So please excuse me and contact me privately to avoid promoting.

Thank you!

We always pay more for the good quality, but the most important is ----you need to find the most suitable one.

Here come my advices for a high quality DVR:

H264. Real time DVR with LCD which can ensure a quick reaction and clear image;

Display/record frame rate should be 30fps or higher, which can ensure a fluent image;

Remote access is a must;

I TB HDD ensure 30 days recording in general;

Support live view via 3G mobile and Smartphone;

DVD R/W installed inside will be good for backup;

The price is around $400 should be the rock bottom price.

I hope my advices can do you a favor in making a choice.
