Hybrid NVR Suggestions

Recommended Posts

I have a budget of around $2-3k. I was initially looking at building my own system around GeoVision cards but I think that’s going to be too much of a pain then what its worth. I do like GeoVision’s ability to add advanced analytics like face detection, missing object, and POS support. Most distributors have countless custom-built packages but my head is starting to spin trying to make a decision.

What would you recommend for a Hybrid NVR?

Here are my following requirements:

-Support 8 analog cameras. Record minimum 60FPS at D1.

-Support a minimum of 4 IP cameras immediately.

-Upgradeable at later date to support a total of 12 IP cameras. (future upgrades not to be included in budget, must just be capable.)

-Support megapixel cameras and have a wide variety of manufacturer compatibility.

-At least 2 audio channels.

-At least 4 alarm I/Os

-Support at least 1 spot/ call monitor

-Must include all software.

-I’d prefer it to be rack mount.

take a look at the Avermedia 6480e...........I use them on my low budget installs and they have proven to be very stable, software updates are easy, and updated IP patches support newer cams all the time.

If you want a "standalone" NVR, Aver has some nice NVR's that would also fill you needs.........

hi. if you wish to add cameras at a later date then you are best with the avermedia either the sa6416e or the rack mount sa9000e. both are very good dvrs. both have face finder and both have very good pos. very good speeds over the internet and easy mobile viewer set-up.

if you wish to remote dial into one of my systems to see the frame rate then please send me a email. i can send you the ip for a 16 way with standard cameras and i also have a 16 way with 6 ip cameras.

Thanks for the recomendations. I looked up the SA6416E and SA9000E. They look promising except for one thing, the max recording resolution on the spec sheets say 720x480. Does this only apply to the analog inputs? If so, what is the max resolution for IP cameras? I'm specifically interested in upgrading to a couple 5 megapixel Arecont cameras later. Thanks again!
