atomsheep 0 Posted August 20, 2009 I'm wanting to install some day/night cameras indoors, cameras which have infrared LEDs to provide illumination in the dark. Problem is, most of the areas I want to cover with cameras are also covered with passive infrared sensors linked to the alarm system. My (very) basic understanding is that PIR sensors pick up sudden changes or differences in infrared - so when the room goes dark and the IR LEDs switch on, will this trigger the PIRs? Thanks in advance for any advice/conjecture.
shropna 0 Posted August 20, 2009 No, Camera IR LEDs wavelength is more than ten times shorter, than PIRs working IR wavelenght.
