I don't know about Cammera CCTV so please explain to me the CCD 1/3" better or 1/4" better?

CCD stands for "charge coupled device" - it's a type of semiconductor used for image capture in all types of cameras (the other common one is CMOS, or "complimentary metal-oxide semiconductor").

 

The 1/3" or 1/4" refers to the size of the sensor. IN GENERAL, the larger the sensor, the better image quality and low-light performance you'll get, but there are other factors that come into play as well that aren't necessarily related to the sensor size.

Not "usually". Sometimes, only. A larger sensor can also mean the same number of larger pixels, which equates to better low-light performance.

Hello, in most situations, 1/3" CCD is better than 1/4" CCD.

Sony 1/3" CCD's usually best!

There are also 1/2" availablem but not so common! Keep in mind you also need lens for the right chipsize!
