tnecniva 0 Posted August 23, 2009 I just got 4 swann wireless outdoor cameras and a USB DVR (SW241-UD4). I have been able to set up the cameras to work with a VCR/TV. However getting it to work with the USB DVR connected to my Laptop has been an issue. The super DVR software which came with the USB DVR has been installed on my Laptop already. However when I connect the receiver for the cameras (cameras are wireless) to the DVR and try to view the video from the Super DVR software, the video is always distorted. Breaking up and not clear as if it is taking photo shots. What could be the issue. I'm using a Dell Latitude D630 laptop could this be the issue. or am I missing the connections? Could someone who has set this up before help out?
marketzion 0 Posted September 1, 2009 i think there are no problem with the computer you are using. the problem is the dvr software and the video processing in the software. the usb DVR is not using some good video processor and the video processing is quite not very good. could you try to just use one camera instead of four all in once? then increase the number of the cameras you use, if when you are running one or two cameras, the video are ok, then, it's only the problem with the hardware cost of the USB DVR. most of the USB DVR uses very cheap video processing chips. tnecniva 0 Posted September 27, 2009 Just to clarify things.........the problem has been fixed. The problem was video format. The dvr was hardcoded for ntsc format. And I was trying to use pal (being the format in my country). Thanks all the same
