baywatch 1 Posted March 15, 2005 This struck me as rather odd. I had a new flier from one of my suppliers today which was advertising Hyundai 42, 50 & 60 inch plasma screens at quite good prices. They give no model numbers but have this announcement boldly accross the page. ALL HYUNDAI LCD TVs AND PLASMAS ARE CCTV FREINDLY. tHEY ARE DESIGNED SO THE SCREEN IMAGE MOVES SLIGHTLY EVERY FEW HOURS TO PREVENT IMAGE BURN. Anybody heard about this system sounds wierd? Makes you tempted to get one & run it 24/7 just to see what happens, as if it burns they must replace it.
joe4 0 Posted March 15, 2005 read this about "image persistence" If your image moves every few hrs it would act like a screen saver. http://www.dslwebserver.com/main/fr_index.html?/main/lcd-screen-burn.html
VJD 0 Posted March 16, 2005 Plasma monitors have had that feature for years. Nothing new. It's been called pixel orbiter, screen orbiter, screen saver, etc. depending on the manufacturer. First time I heard a plasma hyped as 'CCTV friendly" though. Interesting marketing slant.
