kontrol 0 Posted September 8, 2009 Hi, I'm hoping someone can recommend a Switcher unit or PVR which can do a job for me, as I'm having big trouble sourcing a suitable unit. I run a small music venue. We wish to film bands and send them away with a live DVD at the end of the night. We have 4 cameras mounted at various positions, facing the stage. The switcher unit which was recommended was analogue, and doesn't have vertical interval switching. So was of no use as we got glitches cutting between cameras. The second switcher was in the form of a PVR which we were feeding through to a stand alone DVD recorder. This eliminated the V.I. issue, but it not only had a non removable onscreen display, it also displayed a quad screen as part of it's scan function. So, cutting to the chase, I need vertical interval switching, removable or no on screen display, and a programable scan or scan which doesn't show a quad. Audio doesn't have to go through the switcher. And I'm in the UK, so it needs to be a PAL unit. Thanks, Hope someone can help. Stu
kontrol 0 Posted September 17, 2009 Blimey, I thought if anyone would have known it would have been on here! Maybe I've spotted a gap in the market! Shame I can't source a unit though...
Squiffy 0 Posted September 17, 2009 I bought a remote controlled video switcher from Maplins many years ago which has correct VBI switching between sources. There's no scan or OSGs. This is something similar: http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=33162 I don't know if it has the seamless switching desired, but you could always take it back if it doesn't
hardwired 0 Posted September 17, 2009 If you have a source for Pelco in the U.K., this might work http://www.pelco.com/Products/default.aspx?id=637 The specs indicate VBI switching, and they have a 220 volt model, so I assume it is PAL compatible, you could call them and double check.
