sexydadee 0 Posted September 9, 2009 What is the main difference of Fixed Dome and Box Type Cameras without considering aesthetics? When or where do I use the appropriate camera? Thanks
tsd 0 Posted November 4, 2009 Dome camera is used mostly mounted on ceiling. DOME Camera 1. Look fancy 2. With outer black cover it’s hard to know where the camera is looking or pointing 3. Small in size most of the time Box Camera 1. Also know as Profession or Bank Style camera 2. It’s big In size 3. You have a choice of putting any rage of lens 4. When mounted it’s also most easy to tell where the camera is looking
rory 0 Posted November 4, 2009 Box camera is "typically" a professional camera, with better quality and more features. Additionally you can use various lenses on a box camera, where as most dome cameras are proprietary for that particular dome (normally due to the wire attached from the lens to the board, though microvarifocal board lenses can be changed, they are not as easy to find). When and where to use which one will depend on you, the application, and the client.
