ryan123 0 Posted September 9, 2009 Hello I have a issue with viewing my dvr over the net. I am using a M1000 Qwest Modem. The DVR is a Swann DVR4-SecuraNet™ - 4 Channel Digital Video Recorder. I can view the dvr using "DX-Client" when I am on a computer on the same network as the dvr. But when I go home and try to view the dvr from a computer it won’t connect in. Do i need to enable DMZ on the router? I forward the port which is default on port 80 both ways. Any ideas would be very helpful Thanks
Harrar 0 Posted September 13, 2009 It's been my experience that to access Swann DVRs over the internet you also need to forward ports 5000, 5001, and 5002. Check your Swann manual to be sure.
scorpion 0 Posted September 14, 2009 Can you ping the IP address? There may be some settings on the router that blocks pings, and you may also have a setting such as "block anonymous internet request", or "Filter internet NAT redirection". http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Linksys/WRT54G/Gadspot_IP_Camera.htm
