cocacola 0 Posted September 11, 2009 I have a Vista PTZ dome (not windows vista, but brand vista) I got a rs485 output whit A/B see picture. My old 4channel Avtech recorder has a sub 9 i/o connector. The manual learn me that pin 10 and 11 are for rs485. The question is wits wire must i connect to witch pin? And other question, 2400/4800/9600 etc.. I can select all speeds on the dvr and dome those 4800 or 9600 or no divergence noticeable when use. I plan to use 2400 on the dome and recorder, is this wise? Anyone? Soundy 1 Posted September 13, 2009 That should be fine. Baud rate shouldn't make a functional difference, as long as controller and camera both use the same rate.
VOSCOM 0 Posted September 16, 2009 You just use the same rate, that will be OK
cocacola 0 Posted September 16, 2009 You just use the same rate, that will be OK Hmmm, up and running, But the ptz movements are not that great whit the AVtech software. i press left and 2 seconds later i go a bit left. Really diverticult to get the camera i the position that i want. Have i made a cable error? or is it just the software that sucks? Suggestions welcome. survtech 0 Posted September 16, 2009 Probably the software. RS485 is usually either go or no-go. If you wired it wrong you would not be able to control the PTZ at all.
