Cashville 0 Posted September 12, 2009 Hello. I have a Geovision GV-1480 DVR Card GV1480-16, and I'm having some static/noise problems. Here are some screenshots: http://img71.imageshack.us/img71/5892/dsc00068dq4.jpg http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/1716/dsc00069le7.jpg http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/3599/dsc00070va9.jpg http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/9814/dsc00074my7.jpg Anyone have any clues what the problem might be? rory 0 Posted September 12, 2009 i edited post with links for you. What monitor is that on, and how is the system setup? Any extended cables for the camera connections, or any VGA extenders, etc? Are all cameras the same brand and voltage? How about NTSC and PAL selections, are they correct?
Cashville 0 Posted September 12, 2009 Hello. Thanks for editing my post. I don't understand very much, I have a computer technician who took the DVR Card to his shop, and put it in another computer, and conected a webcam, and the same noise was there, but it was fewer, but it was still a problem. I forgot to say that the noise/static is sometimes bigger than on other days, don't know if that helps... The system was doing great for some time, but one time it started showing that noise, and the technician put a new motherboard in the computer, and it fixed the problem for about 6months, but this time the same thing is happening, and he tested the dvr card in another computer, but it didn't fix the problem... kensplace 0 Posted September 16, 2009 Im guessing its interference of some kind, are their any mains cables very close to the DVR octopus cables at the back of the card? What about machinery near the dvr? Its happening to all camera's so my first thought would be to check for interference near to the dvr.
Cashville 0 Posted September 17, 2009 Hello. My computer technician took the vga card to his store, and put it in a pc, and connected only a webcam directly to the card, and the same noise appeared. Regards

Regards You cant connect webcams directly to the card... The card is for PAL/NTSC cameras or other compatible sources. Webcams do not output either. I would ask the technician for a screenshot of the problem with the DVR card installed in his computer, with the camera connected to ensure he has even bothered to do anything at all. zmxtech 0 Posted October 4, 2009 looks like interference from another video source, also the lack of ground on composite video will do that.

ColdRain 0 Posted October 20, 2009 any chance you could take a close up pic of the card and post it? Sure can. sorry for late response, but i'll post them up tonight. I dont think card has anything wrong with it, as in no burns. Is it possible for video card to go bad?

Cashville 0 Posted November 4, 2009 any chance you could take a close up pic of the card and post it? Hello. The card has been showing some really big noise in the last few weeks. I took some photos of the card, as requested, and I also took a pic of the noise. Here are 3 pics of the card, I have more if needed: http://img691.imageshack.us/img691/1963/03112009278.jpg http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/4773/03112009279.jpg http://img264.imageshack.us/img264/2161/03112009281.jpg Here is a pic of the current noise: http://img190.imageshack.us/img190/6439/03112009287.jpg Regards

Regards After looking at your pictures I remembered this case I had! A problem that I finally fixed, but used a long time to do it! Geovision support gave up and didnt find any solutions at all! http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=10022&highlight=gv2008 JD
Cashville 0 Posted November 8, 2009 SOME of that noise looks like it's because your taking a picture with a digital camera of a computer screen... I took it with my cellphone, because I didn't want to go through the trouble of taking a printscreen, and putting in a pen, etc. The noise is all real, it has nothing to do with the picture taken. The noise right now is a little better, but still there is noise, and when something happens, and I need to get one of the cams in full view, the static is really noticeable, and doesn't let me see things clearly. To JOINDVR: Thanks for your reply, I see you had some problems also, but that doesn't seem to have anything to do with the static I'm getting, mine is different from the one in your screenshots. Anyways, I will try the cards in some different computer set ups, to see if I can solve the problem. Regards
