hgiljr 0 Posted September 15, 2009 Good day everyone... In a couple of weeks I will be installing a borrowed system from work to use temporary over the holidays for decorations. I really want to get the best angle but in several locations of my roof's facia board, will cover the view. I would really like to see the image while I temporary mount the camera before running any cables. I know about devices out there that do the BNC to VGA conversion but they are over $50. If I get a BNC to VGA cable sold at my local computer store, would this work? Again I just want to see an image temporary on a monitor. So the BNC side connects to the camera and the VGA directly to the monitor and of course supply power to the camera. Any info appreciated. Thanks
shoreviewsecurity 0 Posted September 15, 2009 Do you have a TV or monitor that has a video input?? If so, you can run a line from the cam to that TV and see the angle of view. Pre-made cables are very reasonable. A whole bunch less that the converter you mentioned. Again, the cable I would send will only work on a TV or monitor that has a video input ( ususally RCA ).
