AVC 760Z Problem !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

Hello !!

I have an AVC 760z for long time ago, about 2 years and a half, and now i have some problems with it.

Something was stolen from my place and i wanted to look on the recording to see what happened and i saw that the recording list was messed-up. It recorded one part of day and suddenly date and time changed (from 16-sep-2009 to 01-jan-2000) and te recording was (2009-sep-16 10:20:31 2009-sep-16 10:29:07......etc... 2009-sep-16 11:54:02 2000-jan-01 00:00:01 2000-jan-01 00:08:04 2000-jan-01 00:10:25 2000-jan-01 00:00:01) just like it was continuous resetting. i dont know what is the problem and another problem i have that when i want to look at a recording suddenly it freeze and displays "Disk scanning". The HDD has never been changed.

So please if someone have some answers i would be glad if helps me !!!

Wish a good day to all !![/b]

It appears that you have several unrelated issues that are effecting the DVR.

The date / time group of 2000 is a sign that the battery to the main board is dead. You will need to change this battery for the DVR to "remember" the date, and time.

You have to replace the hard drive.

You have a power supply issue.

I am going to guess that the hard drive is over heating, and causing the power supply to have issues. This is where the DVR resets. When it resets it goes back to the year 2000.

You might have a bad external, or internal power supply as well.

What do you think?

The battery is a MS621FE battery. Here are some various links on the battery.

i`ve changed the HDD and i tested it for half a day....it worked ok. i could watch the recording data and i even could connect on lan with video server e, and download some data. the old hdd didn`t let me download it said "DVR doesen't contain any data"

I watched on the motherboard and i couldn't see any battery u spoken to me. if it's under the MB, i think it isn't, then i didn't watch there.

How long generally last the time and date until it resets without having any power from 220v ?

Thx for your help! I even managed to understant the system log with all that errors

have a good day and be blessed !!!

So it was the hard drive!

Unplug your DVR, and power it back up to see if it retains the date, and time. It is possible that there was a short across the power input, and it may have shorted the battery as well, and then you would lose the time / date data.

The battery is under the board. (For those of you with new DVRs do not pop the warranty tape to take a look)!

Glad to see you have it working!

it works very good. if i unplug from power few seconds and turn it on it keeps the time and date. but if i let it 10 min without power it resets the time. the system log list is empty. so i don`t know if this is good or not.

i`ve putted now a 250Gb Western Digital Hdd, i hope it will last long time. i have the system from 2 years past, and i think i was lucky to have this HDD working such time. Because i saw dvr sistems wich crashed in 6 monts and all have HDD problems.

I reminded that i saw an error at one DVR with HDD in rack ... " HDD DMA error " or something like that and i dont know what it mean. And i dont know what seems to be the problem: the HDD, rack, IDE cord, ... i dont know

SO i`m glad i recived advices from u, i really learnt a lot from u !

Have a good day/night! (i`m from Romania BTW and now here is night)

Thanks again, verry much !!
